Does anyone have experience getting an UberXL at disembarkation in Montreal?

Hi everyone,

Six of us will be sightseeing but the Viator trip leaves at 9:00 a.m. Too early, I think. Therefore, we are planning on Ubering to a few sites around town. Any luck or experience with this? Will they pick up at the port? And can we leave our luggage at the port for a fee? OR can we just hire a driver for the day?

We have successfully Ubered around Manhattan and L.A. but have no experience in Montreal. Thanks in advance for your help!

When we were in Montreal last September, the person at our Airbnb place told us that Uber was not completely welcomed in Montreal. I'm not sure what that meant, but I would probably suggest making a plan B just in case Uber is not allowed to operate there, or operators are scarce. Perhaps you could also try to schedule a ride in Montreal, without going so far as to reserve it, to see if that gives you a better idea of what's available and the cost. I did that with Uber in a U.S. city; assume you can do it anywhere, but don't really know.
