I took Phentermine for about 18 months. I lost some, but my blood pressure went sky high, and I had to quit taking it. THEN, I gained back all the weight and then some. Now, I am on a clinical trial, and I am steadily losing (lost 30 lb). Of course, the clinical trial also involves using Weight Mate, so I get nutrition advice as well as the advice of a personal trainer. . . . that helps. They don't want me to lose too quickly, because they say, "The faster you take it off, the faster you put it back on." I have found that to be sadly true. With HCG, Phentermine - whatever. The trick is to eat healthier, and move more - sadly. This is a 4 year clinical trial, so I think I will keep the weight off!

Hi all!

I bought a Groupon for one of those medically supervised weight loss programs a couple of weeks ago. It came with a dr. visit, a nutritionist visit, an EKG, labs, lipotropic shots and an appetite suppressant if I wanted it. I paid an additional $150 to get a resting metabolism test and a VO2 test (that tells you where your "fat burning" zone is when you exercise).

I got the Phentermine on 2/25. Ten days later I went in and weighed and I had lost 12 pounds. But I was really kind of stressed about it, because I had not been eating. I would be surprised if I even cleared 900 calories a day. According to my metabolism test, I should be eating between 1100 and 1600 for weight loss.

So I decided to stop the drug. I went back to the nutritionist and worked through some of those issues. I re-started the Phentermine, but often skip a day or cut it in half. That seems to be a good spot for me.

I am learning that my old eating habits still "own" me... I order meals that in the past I could finish in a heartbeat, but now can't even come close to finishing. I've also learned to make lunch my biggest meal of the day. Dinner for me is often some Progresso soup (100 cals) or a protein shake.

The phentermine will defintely help get that weight loss jump started -- you just need to make sure you are doing it the right way (don't eat too little) and can maintain that "right way" eating after you stop them.

Good luck!

Your doing it the "smart" way..and a lot of it is in the mind anyways. I'm in the same boat..even a salad I could normally eat in one sitting gets stretched out to 3 meals sometimes. I eat my biggest meal of the day during lunch also, but had learned that trick from my Latin husband as it's a big thing in their culture to do it that way, and we are also big soup eaters at night!

People can live off 1200-1500 calories a day, the problem is something in their mind tells them they can't or its unhealthy and they become afraid and sabotage themsleves right there.

Congratulations..there is NOTHING that tastes better than putting on smaller size clothes..so not worth cookies or that other garbage that we thought we gave us so much pleasure!

I put this on my Kindle and just started it today. We are on our way to Miami now and our cruise is tomorrow. Woo-Hoo!! Hopefully with this book, my new food and exercise habits, and the phentermine I brought, won't gain too much!

So far I am down 24 lbs. I have been eating healthy and exercising a few times per week. I not only brought the phenteine with me but also workout clothes. I think I'm going to take the phentermine every other day while on our cruise.

I think that varies greatly from one person to the next. I'm eating very low calories while on phentermine but I'm also under medical care. I try to net between 1,000-1,200 per day...if I work out heavy I don't always quite reach it though.

I eat low carb, high protein because that's what works for me. I eat carbs but not in the form of breads, pasta, etc. When I do eat those types of food (anything with gluten really but especially wheat) I get very bloated and its painful. I am also very sensitive to dairy products but they are far more difficult for me to give up so I just try to limit them as much as possible. I do love them though! I mostly eat protein, fruits and vegetables. I have lost 34 lbs so far and still meed to lose at least 27-37, so I'm about half way there.

If you have much to lose, I suggest seeing your doctor or a nutritionist for guidance. Good luck!

The weight loss professional that prescribed phentermine for me told me that I need to eat 1200 calories per day and not to eat things that are worthless to my body (chips, candy, soda...you know...good stuff) lol

Lean meats, veggies, fruits, hot green tea in place of 80% of my coffee drinking, and lots of water...

I am really trying to cut my carbs...i will have 1/2 of a baked potatoe instead of a full one...

I am glad for this thread. My doctor prescribed Phen for me and I am on day 2 of taking it. I am still at half dose and will go to full dose in a few days.

So far it is helping with my cravings which was what it is meant for. I am on a super low carb, high protein and no calorie or fat limitations eating plan right now.

My doctor did do an EKG so I knew to expect that. She said it is very safe to take and has been around since 1959 and has never been pulled from the market. She said it got a bad rap in the 1980's because it was mixed with another drug that made the combo unsafe. She said it is meant to be a tool to help with getting the mind off food and cravings so that you can live a "normal" life without constantly thinking about food.

She will have me on for 3 months and off for a month and I go in every 2 weeks for monitoring.

My doctor is a Bariatric and Women's health specialist and specializes in PCOS, which I have. I am down 10 pounds since the end of May and have lost 2.5 inches in my waist.

I have a weight loss center in my area I've been to that gives B12 shots. I'm going to call about this and see if they offer it. I have less than 40 days to get off some pounds. Not all of it, of course, but I'd like to lose 10-15. This sounds like it works!

I've been on on phentermine a few times. It really does stop the appetite in its tracks for 6-8 weeks. It's meant to be taken short term because while the amphetamine effects continue, the appetite suppressant (anorectic) effects wear off. I will say that it makes me crazy. I get a lot of house cleaning done and my thinking is razor sharp but I also jump down peoples' throats and get extremely jittery. After a certain point I need to move up a dose to get the suppressant effects. As my body adjusts to that I start automatically adding more coffee to my day- not a pretty picture. The main thing to keep in mind is that it is an amphetamine. You will have the side effects that taking speed would give you.

I am going to start verrrrry slow and see how I do. In the past, I've been sensitive to appetite suppressants but I need a quick fix.

It’s only natural to experience the appetite suppression, since it’s the main action of Phentermine is to decrease your appetite by acting as a very powerful appetite suppressant, so by being less hungry you will tend to eat less during meals and between meals, which will decrease your Caloric intake.

It did wonders for me, I am grateful! Just follow your doctor’s instructions, as it can be addictive if you use more than 37.5 a day!

This site gives all the details about it, it says that many users of the drug have reported being completely addicted to it.

Even “If you forget to take your phentermine one day, do not double-up or increase your next dose. Simply leave the missed dose and start up once again on the regular schedule.”

Stay safe and best of luck

You will never experience long-term success unless you change your relationship with food. I know it's tempting to look for an easy way out, but do you really think it's healthy and sustainable to outsource your self control to a pill?

You will gain it all back unless you plan to take this medication for the rest of your life.

Hello,
Phentermine is a diet pill that has been shown to work very well. I took it last years and I lost about 17 kg in 4 months but change in diet and exercise regime are essential. The only side effect I have had was occasional dry mouth and that was tolerable. That's it. Combining Phentermine with a healthy diet and a fitness program will give almost anyone the results they are looking for weight loss. Anyway, if any one of you decide to try Phentermine check with http://meds-pharmacy.com. Have been ordering with them and they've been reliable and trustworthy so far.
Good luck to all !

Here's the thing...combining *anything* with healthy diet and a fitness program will give anyone results. Just healthy diet and fitness will give people results, because that is what makes you lose weight. 17 kg in 4 months would have been completely attainable without the supplement as long as you were eating right, so how can you say it was the supplement that helped you?

People really need to stop looking for an easy way out, skip all the pretense, and just do what every human being on this planet needs to do to lose weight: fix their diet.
