I am curious as to why we are required to purchase a drink package. I myself do not drink enough alcohol to pay $50.00 a day. I may have two a day at the most. I can understand this for people that enjoy drinking. Is there another option for us that are older and do not drink a lot?
As Lenny has said, there's no obligation to purchase, they're simply there for those who feel they may spend more. I bought a Bottomless Bubbles on my cruise out of Sydney and really didn't feel like I got value. I haven't bought a package before. Additionally, if you're going to gamble in the casino, you might 'earn' your Drinks on Us card during your cruise, meaning you get free drinks when you're gambling. Far be it for me to say how long you should gamble after you've got your freebie. ;-)

Did you mean, if someone in your cabin bought a package, you do too?I was wondering if the OP meant that as well. While I don't agree with that policy myself, and am not a HUGE drinker, hubby and I are still gonna do the drink package on our Halloween Cruise next year. Since it includes bottled water, specialty coffee, energy drinks, soda, etc., I think it will still save us money in the long run.. we will NEVER hit the max of 15 alcoholic drinks per day though lol
