We are crusing out of NOLA the Sunday before Thanksgiving. We arrive in town that Saturday, 11/18. Staying at the Marriott Downtown Convention Ctr. Wondering what the best mode of transportation will be once we leave our hotel and want to see Jackson Square and French Qtr. We've never been to NOLA before.

Also, its my sons 9th birthday so we are looking for a fun place to eat for a party of 9 (ages 9-60). Not looking for a super expensive restaurant but good food and fun atmosphere.

Yes, we are all capable of walking but would also like to take one of the street cars to see the area before dinner.

head towards the quarter and take a right on Julia and walk down to the waterfront route. cafe du monde for beignets is on this route. use gmaps to look at stuff. there is so much to see and do in your area you need at least a week. Julia street has art galleries and the WW2 museum is very close. cochon Butcher for local cajun pork, meats and eats which is perhaps 4 blocks. https://www.google.com/maps/place/New+Orleans+Downtown+Marriott+at+the+Convention+Center/@29.9432036,-90.0671416,16.9z/data=!4m5!3m4!1s0x8620a66e3a76ea19:0x6bb659ee1a865f71!8m2!3d29.943284!4d-90.064784

This is just a few blocks from your hotel. All ages until 9pm.
