Kite Powered Ships?

I just found an online article about a company called SkySails (spelling?) and they attached this massive kite (actually a flexible wing) to the front of a cargo ship of 130 Meter length. They sailed from Bremerhaven, Germany to Venezuela and back and saved more than 20% on their fuel use. They should attach these to cruise ships. They would be fantastic to watch and save TONS of fuel!

Are you serious? I believe there is a rule on cruise ships that you cannot "fly" anything from the ship. I don't know how practical this would be. It sounds like sailing would be a better option.

Seems like storing a kite onboard might be a little easier than designing an entire cargo ship around sails. Makes sense to me!
