Wine amount for Back to Back Cruises

Does anyone know if I can bring 4 bottles of wine on board at the beginning of a back to back cruise? Do they hold the 2nd 2 bottles for the 2nd half? We are embarking out of Vancouver and sailing b2b cruises to get to Sydney. Also, is it true that we can bring water on board? Do I understand it correctly that we can purchase gifts of wine and other alcohol for ourselves on the Celebrity site and have those delivered to our room? I am sorry for all these questions but I am new to Celebrity. We don't drink a lot and there is no drinks package included for the transpacific portion of the cruise. We like an occasional glass of wine, an evening drink, and lots of water and don't like it chlorinated.

When you embark (or at any port where you stop) you can bring on as much water or soft drinks as you like. Some just buy a 12 pack and put a room label on the pack and give it to the porters.

You can bring on 2 bottles of wine and take them to your room. You can also bring on more bottles of wine/liquor and they will take them and keep them until the last night of the cruise and then return them to you for packing. Of course if you're not packing, well, you'll just have to find some other place in your cabin to store those bottles until you pack to leave on your second cruise :)

Now, that's how it normally works...but of course things aren't always normal. You might be stopped from bringing more than 2 bottles of wine/liquor on board when you embark...that's happened...but if you buy at a port stop, they will always hold the wine/liquor as I stated above....well, actually even that isn't always true...we've been on cruises where they just notice you're bringing on a bottle of wine/liquor and just let you take it right to your room. I have also heard of cruises where they check and if you are B2B, they hold the wine/liquor to the end of the second cruise....but that's very rare.

Sorry, but there's not all that much consistency among ships, ports, cruises.

You can, of course, bring two more bottles on wine with no problems when you board your second cruise...that limit is per cruise.

One more hint...if you do want to buy a bottle of wine for your room, check the bar in the buffet area...they usually have various bottles of wine for sale during lunch for "bargain" prices (that's about $25 a bottle...a bargain on Celebrity). You can take that bottle to your room....and it's much less expensive than ordering a regular bottle. It's not great wine, but it's in a glass bottle and drinkable :)

You will be limited to up to two 750ml bottles of wine per cabin in your carry on luggage upon your initial boarding. You can bring sealed case/s of water (and soda too) by affixing a luggage tag onto it and giving it to the porter with your luggage when checking in at the port. Here is a hint: You can buy more bottles of wine (as many as you want) during your first sailing and have them held upon your return to the ship. They will be returned to your cabin on the last night of the first sailing - enabling you to enjoy them all during your next sailing if you wish!

In the past I have put 2 bottles of wine in each of my check luggage. I was never sent to the knotty room. Other option is dont go through the scanners together. They dont have a check list of what cabins have already brought 2 bottles of wine. So you each have 2 bottle of wine in each of your carry ons.

Yes you are allowed to bring aboard "4" 750 ml bottles of wine for a B2B cruise. We always carry them on with us. We have never been stopped, questioned or had to provide additional documentation showing we were doing a B2B cruise to justify the additional wine. Even at Vancouver.

Not true. That has never been our experiences for any of our B2B cruises no matter the embarkation port. We've always carried on 4 750 ml bottles of wine at the embarkation port.

Our experience for the Silhouette back in February in Fort Lauderdale was the first time we were checked and double checked. Never had this happen before.

Yes, we went through somewhat apart, but both of us were escorted to the security guy present. They logged in my four bottles (I had purchased locally and had planned to take home with me), and let me have two. Then they cross checked DH carry-on against the room number, and since I had already "checked in" two bottles, they took the wine that he had.

So........YMMV. Wish they would just let us bring what we want, charge a reasonable corkage, and wish us a pleasant journey.

A number of differing statements here, but we went on a B2B last year. Brought 2 bottles on at start. Bought a few a various ports of 1st cruise and they were all put in our SR at the end of the 1st cruise and could enjoy a few on the 2nd cruise.

It’s a pain to get caught brining on more than 2 bottles so I’d suggest you do 2 then buy a few more as you go along and if they are taken at security reentry you’ll get them later.

Unless of course things have changed in 6 months.

What is 'a reasonable corkage' charge?

I have read it stated before without any further explanation.

On a thread elsewhere on this forum a passenger was reporting that on the one Celebrity ship (Constellation I think) has done away with the limit - they have printed the extract of text

I also read it and I for one am not buying the no limit claim. No one else has posted anything remotely close supporting the supposedly new no limit wine being brought aboard at the point of embarkation.

Ignore! Posted re: customs duty issues on multiple bottles of wine... but for AK cruises, there's no personal use importation limit so not relevant to OP. Sorry, can edit but not delete!!!

Hello Samuel S. Celebrity has a posted corkage of $25. I find this a bit high, and would feel very comfortable and happy to pay $15. That is what we have paid on NCL and Princess. This is just my opinion, and reflects the moderate cost of the wines I like to bring. If I were bringing in pricey Napa wines, and had paid $75 and up, then I suppose $25 wouldn't seem too bad.

Great question
