Oasis Stateroom help

Recommended Posts

We are planning a cruise on Oasis for March 2017, but have never been on that class before. Looking at either D1 or D2, but unsure about location. Any help on which deck would be best. We like mid ship to mid aft location, and there are entirely too many choices. Any suggestions would be gratefully appreciated.

I've cruise Oasis/Allure a few times. I'm partial to the hump balcony staterooms for the slightly larger balcony. My stair limit is three decks (yeah, I'm out of shape), so I like deck 7 because there's a lot of popular spots you can walk to between decks 4-8 without having to wait for an elevator.

We like to stay on a deck between other passenger decks (e.g., not under the WJ or the pool deck). We usually like decks 8 or 9 on a hump, but this next time we're on deck 6, right behind the Dog House! I'm hoping it's quiet there, but we just booked so we were limited to our choices. A few years ago and booked Explorer fairly last minute and got a cabin on deck 6, aft. We really liked it! Easy to get to the Promenade, the theater and casino. We usually use the elevators to go up (old, bad knees), but can use the stairs to go down a few decks.

Enjoy Oasis -- we love that class ship!

What about decks 10 or 11? I think our son will spend more time in AO and at pool deck, and these seemed in the middle of those and the promenade and central park/boardwalk. Are these good decks?

I think those decks are fine. I'd stay away from deck 14 because I don't like being directly under the pool deck.

Decks 10 and 11 will be fine, even 12 would be fine, but definitely avoid 14 because of noise from the pool deck. We were just on the Oasis and our cabin was on deck 12. No complaints! I thought the location was great!

Thanks. I am not sure if its because we said we were traveling with our son (who will be 7 at the time) but the RCI recommended Deck 14 because it is same deck as AO.

True, but if you are near the forward stairs on decks 11 or 12, it's pretty qucik to get up to deck 14.

If you like to watch what is going on on the pier while in port, I would suggest starboard side. The Oasis class ships predominantly tie up to the pier with the starboard side to the pier. When using the starboard side, they can use the escalator for when people are leaving and returning to the ship.

They will occasionally put the port side to the pier if they have some maintenance issue on the port side or they want to exercise lifeboats on the starboard side. I find it fun to watch the "runners" who think that the all aboard time does not apply to them. Some are left standing on the pier and waving goodbye to their ship.

April 2016 we have 2 cabins on the Port side deck 9 on the fwd hump (we cruised before Starboard side as smoking is usually port side on most ships). Hoping that people respect the no smoking on balconies policy.

Hi. I'm a newbie to the board and am set to sail Jan 3, 2016. Several years since my last cruise so I wanted to come back big with Allure. Although outta the game for a while my instincts are apparently still spot on as I booked a center hump cabin on deck 7 and didn't know what the hump was or how coveted. My guy has never cruised so this was a great choice for us.

Thanks Bob. Looked at the deck plans, and Deck 8 looks like a winner for us.

Yea, I agree too! Deck 8 is close to the Park Cafe, which is handy for getting complimentary coffee and pastries before you go up for breakfast. Uh.. if you're so inclined. And we were. Every day. ;)

The hump cabins on Oasis class are a little bigger; I would recommend a Deck 8 hump if you can get it. :)

Deck 8 also makes it easier to go the length of the ship while passing through the uncrowded and pleasant Central Park, instead of through miles of narrow corridors.

ROTFL:D The first question DW asks every time I book a cruise is how far does she need to go to get her first cup of coffee:D

LOL. I just moved my cabin from Deck 12 on the Harmony in March 2017 to Deck 6 because I realized: "I am going to have to go up or down a few floors for coffee...that has to change." I get where DW is coming from!

I think we will go with 8596 a Starboard Balcony, its on a hump think its to early to book? Anyone been in this cabin before?

Never too early to book. If the price is acceptable, I'd book it.

This is the first time that we booked on the board walk, we have booked cabin 10721. Is this a good choice we also want to see the ocean view, or should we go to the 11th deck.

You should be fine with this cabin. The better Boardwalk balcony ocean views are from those cabins towards the aft and my personal opinion is either deck you are considering is fine and you might consider whichever offers the farthest cabin aft.

Enjoy!
