If you are interested in the what to do in port, it would help if you list the ports.

 

If you haven't already, I would also post your questions on the NCL board. No doubt you will get more ship and cruise line specific replies.

We did Buenos Aires to Valparaiso a couple of years ago on the Norwegian Sun. We really enjoyed it. After the cruise we rented a car and drove to Santiago for a few days. The ports are mostly good, we especially liked the Falklands. We took a couple of ship tours plus booked another with some folk on CC. Some spots you can just walk about or grab a taxi or local bus. Lots of info on CC if you search. Nice ship, quiet and not too big. Interesting passengers - quite a few from the UK.
