Departing from Boston - looking for hotel recommendations

We are from Ottawa and traveling to Boston in April for the Norwegian Dawn cruise to Bermuda. We are hoping to drive down the day before, and are trying to find a hotel we can park the car at for the week. We did this in Syracuse for our recent cruise out of NY, and were able to keep the car there for free for the week, as we had a room booked for the beginning and end of our cruise.

We've never been to Boston, and are having a hard time finding a hotel with any availability. Any thoughts?

First off, forget finding a place to leave your car. Just park at the port. There are very few hotels with a park and cruise rate, and those that do tend to be on the outskirts.

Are you looking to do any touristy stuff, or just a place to sleep? If the latter, it will be easier, and cheaper, to find a place outside of town and just drive to the port in the morning.

What date is your cruise? April can be a busy time in Boston.

I totally agree with this suggestion if you're not trying to sightsee. It looks like your sail date is April 27. What is your hotel budget? Two people? Are you coming in the Mass Pike?

Parking at the pier is about $20/day. Hotels in the Newton/Waltham area are one option. Burlington/Lexington or Framingham/Metrowest are other good options. Staying outside the city in a more suburban area and driving directly to the port the morning if the cruise is a much easier choice than trying to deal with one of the airport hotels or park/cruise hotels in Quincy or Dorchester.

There are 2 hotels on airport property, a third that you can walk to from the free shuttle to the MBTA subway station on property, and a few others that would require a shuttle bus.

There are a solid dozen hotels in the Seaport district, which is near the cruise terminal. I suggest you go to Kayak or similar and do hotel searches near Logan and near the Cruise Terminal to see all your options.

We are flying into Boston Logan the day before we cruise.

What hotels are near the cruise terminal and airport?

What is the exact date you need a hotel? How many people? Hotel budget? Boston sightseeing requirements if any?

We are flying in 2 days before our early May cruise and are planning on staying at the Homewood Suites. The price is about $215 a night, which is the best we could fine. They have a shuttle from the airport to the hotel and one to the rapid transit. We want to do a hop on, hop off type of city tour. Does anyone know if they have such a thing? I am almost sure I remember they do.

New hotel. Poor location in Chelsea. Public transit option is commuter rail which runs infrequently. Reviews indicate hotel "shuttle" service may not be consistent. Folks got good results ubering in and out of Boston.

Google Old Town Trolley Boston.

If you're still searching and are ok with not being able to cancel, try Hotwire . We've had success staying in the Waterfront area as well as Back Bay through them .Last Nov. we had great success using Uber in Boston so that might help transportation wise .
