QV General Info

Hi all,

We're first time travellers on Cunard, booked on QV for August. We've cruised twice with P&O so are no strangers to the dress code etc - pretty much the reason my wife wants to go back on another cruise is the dressing up and atmosphere in the evening!

I'm just wondering if anyone has any tips / guidance, which isn't published directly on Cunard's website, or anything we should be aware of in advance?

Thanks in advance! :D

Hi Ryan

Great questions. I'm also new to Cunard but have done a little research and found out that the soft drinks package is unlimited. They don't tell you that on the website. But could be a useful tip for you.

Also in case you were wondering the dress code hopefully shouldn't be too different to P&O. I enquired about chinos and great news -- you can wear these too.

These forums are a wealth of information.

Looking forward to being on QV myself later in the year.

Hi Gill,

I think we may just miss each other.

Just really looking for any info that isn't advertised or that you'd only know having cruised with Cunard / on the QV, which would help make our time aboard even better.

Joe, great investigative work! This is exactly what I'm after. I saw the soft drinks package and noticed the wording was a little 'loose' around usage, but this looks like a bargain for $6.50 a day. Chinos is good to know - may pack a pair just incase.

A few bits of Cunard advice

  • The room service is great. You can write-in breakfast requests and they will be honored. (within reason, of course)
  • The pub lunches in the Golden Lion Pub are excellent
  • As is afternoon tea

(hmmm... I wonder why all my advice is food-related?)
