Transport to Southampton from Cardiff

Looking for some reviews, my husband and I are travelling on Norwegian Bliss in April and then returning on Cunard 33 days later. We usually travel with Eavesway but they don't cover South Wales for NCL or Cunard, we are thinking of going on the train for the first time but with big bags I am a bit apprehensive. Any tips or recommendations for alternatives?:confused:

The train makes a great deal of sense

A direct service, mainly hourly, journey time 2hrs 30.

Advance purchase tickets from about £12 e/w :)

Then a £5 to £6 taxi ride from Southampton central station to the ship.

We usually just drive down and park, but it may be a bit expensive to park for 33 days. Train, therefore is probably best bet. You just need to be aware for any engineering works that may be occurring.

On our cruise from Southampton last June, we met an elderly couple from South Wales who had used the train and they didn't have any problems with luggage.

I took the train from Cardiff to Southampton for my Cruise after seeing a bit of Wales. It was easy, pretty cheap and so nice to relax and watch the scenery! Just get a taxi from train station to hotel or port!
