What’s the night life like on Solstice?

We sailed on Solstice to Alaska last May. We were in the casino til at least midnight every night and loads of people still up and about. Lounges and bars seemed to be very lively, too. It also depends on the itinerary. If it's port intensive and early morning excursions, then more folks will retire early. Caribbean cruisers tend to stay up late, in Europe, not so much. We love Solstice and I'm sure you will find plenty to do in the evening.

Agree that the itinerary can sometimes affect nightlife and where reputation for 10.30pm curfews may have started from [emoji2]

We’ve sailed on her 3 times and the first itinerary (Hawaii to Australia) was a little quiet although luckily we were in a group and made our own fun...they learnt to keep Quasar open after 10, heck to 1am for us [emoji23]

Next itinerary was a South Pacific cruise ex Australia and was much more lively in general. Martini Bar, Quasars and Sky Lounge were all lively until wee hours.

Last cruise was Singapore to Sydney and again I recall the venues were quite lively some shut ‘early’ around 11pm-midnight but plenty of people were still dancing and prancing at Quasars!

On the other hand I could understand an Alaska cruise with more ports combined with big days whilst in port could cause the energy levels to dwindle somewhat not long after dinner, so could be quite a different experience! [emoji42][emoji42][emoji42]

We were on the Solstice for an Alaskan cruise. Loved the cruise and loved the ship. The night life was lacking. DH and I are in our mid to late 60's. Was not to bothersome, as we spent a lot of our evenings watching the changing scenery.

We were on the Solstice for a Hawaii cruise (Vancouver to Honolulu) with five days at sea. We were never bored. Met some wonderful people on the roll call for the cruise and spent most of the time hanging out. Usually met at the Martini Bar (bartenders there were an entertainment by themselves), around 8PM and planned the rest of the evening. There were music themed nights like Motown we would go to or other themed music nights. Sometimes went to the casino, or took in a show. There are plenty of activities to do so you should not get bored.

We did 16 nights on Solstice in march. Night Life is truly what you make of it and how you define it. There are many bars open and late shows and activities, perhaps until 1-2 AM. If you want to stay up later you will likely be walking the decks alone.

Been on the Solstice 3 times each was a little different but there was always a small group that stayed up till they closed the clubs anywhere from midnight till 3am a few nights (Quasor or Sky lounge). It depends on the crowd on board, the cruise director and the entertainment. If the entertainment and DJ are good people tend to stay up later. Our first Solstice cruise the DJ was terrible so there were very few people in Quasor after midnight and it usually closed pretty early.

The last trip on her was in April, we did the GBR from Sydney. That one was pretty lively at night especially the silent discos, those were packed. Sky lounge and Quasor were also busier than I've seen them on most other Celebrity cruises.

Typically there's not a lot happening after 11 or 12 on Celebrity but all you need is a couple dozen people and they will usually keep the club open.

The nightlife varies considerably by length of cruise, and how many days in popular ports. Most 14 night cruises we have been on get quiet around 8:00 pm and are basically dead by 10:00. There have been a couple of exceptions (those Australians seem to like to party:)). If you have a port intensive cruise other than the Caribbean, you may find things winding down early as people prepare to get up early for excursions. For Caribbean ports, I don't see this happening quite as much. On most 10 day or shorter cruises, unless there is a special port the next day, there is usually some partying going on until at least midnight (how much longer I am not sure as I turn into a pumpkin by then), and good attendance at the ship's special parties that usually start at around 10:00 pm.

There is not much to do after 10 pm if you don't drink and don't like to hang out in bars (me). Although hanging at a bar is fine for a while listening to good music.

Sure, there is the occasional special show but pretty much it's the casino and bars after 10. Kind of my only complaint about Celebrity.

And remember, when most people, not all, but most people say they are partying, they really mean drinking - lol

My DW and I are in the mid to late 60s. We get up a little after 5 am almost every day and crash about 10 pm. Been doing this for more than 15 years so our bodies are used to it. This may have something to do with the disappearing night life as well as the next days port. However, during some nights I plan on having a Red Bull to help out. :)

On our recent Solstice cruise, it was dead after 10 pm. The shows were sparsely attended, no lines at the bars, few people dancing in the Atrium, etc. I do not know where all the people were. I suspect they were in their rooms...

Normally at 10-12 there will be something in the Sky Lounge each night unless there's another event scheduled in that same time frame. The silent disco moves around and on our last Solstice cruise it was in the Martini Bar, the main atrium on deck 3, and the Solarium, but I've seen it in Quasor, outside Quasor, and even on the pool deck. And since it's silent it's easy to walk right past it without knowing there's a party going on. There's also usually a pool party or two on warmer cruises, they also usually start around 10.
