The Impossible Shore Excursion

We are booked on Viking Orion 4/2019 SE Asia cruise Bangkok to Hong Kong.

This itinerary has 3 days listed for Ho Chi Minh City.

First day arrive at noon, overnite.

Second day all day and night in port.

Third day, sail at 2pm.

Total of 50 hours in port.

For an optional shore excusion we want to book an overnite trip to Siem Reap, visit The temples etc. no price listed but I expect it to be 1K per person or so. This is a Viking excursion.

The problem is that the details of the shore excusion indicate that we would not return to Ho Chi Minh City until the day after the ship sails. The excursion is listed as 48 hours.

I am curious to see how Viking alters this.

A small object lesson in paying attention to details.

On the 2018 World Cruise I believe those going to Siem Reap will reboard the ship at the next port, they will only miss a sea day but we are only in Saigon for 2 days not 3. Ankor Wat is truly amazing.

The World Cruise excursion was close $2000 seemed pretty all inclusive if I remember correctly, advertised as 4 days. not sure how they can do it 48 hours.

Yes , the 4 day pre cruise tour is 2K per person. We didn't want to do an additional 4 days, but we booked the Bangkok 2 day pre cruise tour.

We are hoping to get at least one full day at Angkor Wat.

I expect they will drop the half day City tour at the front end and just fly us to Siem Reap.
