Which Denali Flight tour at Denali princess lodge is better?

Hello, I am faced with yet another dilemma and hoping I can get an opinion of anyone who has or hasn’t done a flight tour of mount Denali. I am currently booked on a Denali summit flight with the Denali princess lodge where the flight takes you to the summit. Thought this was a real once in a lifetime thing! But then today I noticed this other flight tour where you actually land on the side of Denali. I don’t know which one is better, with the one where you land, it says in the description that 90% of the flight is just over the park. So just wondering if the summit flight is the more better flight? I thought it would be pretty amazing to be able to land on the side of the mountain, but I don’t know of this other tour flies to the summit of the mountain.

Here is the link for the two tours. If I can get some opinions that would be greatly appreciated

The best flight is the one where you can actually see the mountain! Sorry, I don't mean to be critical, but this is a frequently cancelled tour, or one that is not as good as the brochures say it will be because if the weather is not clear it's not that great a deal for the money. Also, later in the summer, the glacier landing tours will stop flying because the snow is too soft to land safely. This is a tour I would not book in advance but wait until I am in Alaska or actually in Denali and let the weather decide.

Eleven years ago we did the summit flight with K2 on a Princess excursion. I'm not fond of small planes but we had done the Misty Fjords seaplane flight in Ketchikan and loved it so I was willing to give it a go. Just be aware that the cabin is not pressurized so you will be wearing an oxygen mask for part of the flight. The scenery was incredible and it remains one of our top excursions ever, anywhere.

Oh okay, this makes sense of course since Denali is so big it makes its own weather. But which one of the two tours is the better one?

I have done both these tours, booked independently several times. My preference is always the summit flight. BUT- YOU are the one touring not me. :) What is it YOU want out of your trip?

Being you are on a Princess cruisetour, you must be at the McKinley Lodge??? Why don't you just get a combo tour of both, and book direct yourself??? Simple solution to, what looks to be a conflicting choice for you? Plus there is plenty else to enjoy and occupy your time at Denali.

Sorry NO there is not going to be any transfer available. Back to choosing what is available from Healy.

I wrongly assumed you were on a cruise tour, that Princess most always includes both lodges?? Is this an independent stay at the Princess Lodge? How are you getting there?
