Jumbalaya in New Orleans

Jambalaya is a Cajun dish so you would be better off at a Cajun restaurant. We like Michauls.

Another Cajun restaurant is Mulates but I haven't been in a while so you may want to check current reviews.

My husband is from central Louisiana (Cajun) and I was raised in New Orleans with Italian/Creole grandparents. The type of food we were raised on is completely different. The Creole influenced dishes and Cajun dishes are very different. To get the full range of Louisiana food, you may want to try both a Cajun and Creole restaurant.:)
