Hotels in Boston ttend to be pricey but end of May into June, in particular very c osttly.r. As many hotels as Boston has, we also have a great many colleges and universities. End of May, early June is graduation sea on and families o f graduates book hotels many months in advance. If you

wish to get a room close to what and where you want, you will need a bit of luck and not be overly picky in your choice.

There is no hotel that will be close to both the Common and the Cruise Port. May is college graduation season, so yes, hotels are expensive.

Of course, you are right there is no hotel c lose to both Black Falcon and Boston Common

We had a late arriving flight and for "convenience" we chose the very pricy Boston airport Hilton - which was a nightmare to find from our arrival terminal late at night - it was not just "steps away" -it was a very confused route. And it was an ordeal getting to the cruise port even though it was just across the bridge.

However, once you get rid of your luggage - which was another big issue if you try to do this too early, you can use the Boston water taxis for only about US$10 across the bay to get back into downtown Boston for some sight-seeing. To top it off, a sudden rain storm right after we left the hotel to get to the cruise port shut down the entire Boston airport, delaying all those coming in later that day.

What we thought our choice was going to be a value-added premium for our Hilton airport-cruise terminal connection and turned out to be anything but. Might want to use the HAL connection option for this one, even though they are never cost-effective on paper but you can leave all later worries to them once you are under their care.

THAT is where you went wrong. You were looking for a bridge ?Noooo, No,,,,,,, bridge. You needed to go through Ted Williams Tunnel, 10 minutes.....

Either you got confused or got bad directions. NO bridge to get from Logan airport to Black Falcon Cruise Terminal.

We used one of those sites where you pick your hotel by the number of stars, like Priceline or Hotwire. Miraculously, we were matched to the Intercontinental, which is close to the cruise port, extremely close to the train station, and absolutely wonderful. Highly recommended.

Whatever........ seems to have caused your difficulty.

Not really. Just trying to warn others the Boston transit linkage can be problematic. It looks a lot easier on paper than it turned out to be. Sorry about any error I made disremembering how actually we got from the airport to the cruise terminal.

We stayed at The Bostonian which is just across the street from Faneuil Hall. It was a great location and we used public transit to get around and sightsee. Took a cab from hotel to cruise port for about $12-15 dollars.

USS Constitution just came out of dry dock and tours are beginning again.
