Share a bargain/deal

Recommended Posts

I just booked Ocean Princess Honolulu to Sydney 27 nights through Tahiti and all the beautiful places! At $173 USD per night for an obstructed ocean view I thought it a bargain....don't usually book this far out (the cruise is 1MAR2013) but its a small ship and a great itinerary so thought better to get in early.

Hope some of the CC gang will join me.

(Now I just have to work out how to change my countdown clocks on a MAC)

Hi Jilly,

Searching madly for this one......what a great price, but can't seem to find it. I know we are not allowed to mention TA on here, as I got a warning when I answered your query last week:eek:....I wasn't thinking, sorry. So I will have to keep searching for this, and if I find it we are on it for sure, even though we have a Princess one booked for Nov....just love NZ.

Hi Jen,

Go to www.celebritycruises.com then to Celebrity Century ship and then cruises. Current price for a twin inside cabin is NZ$1584 (approx Aus$1200) Then I guess you have to find a TA that will discount it.

Unfortunately that's restricted to those over 55, plus it also doesn't includes taxes/charges.

Correct. Also doesn't include the gratuities of $11.90pp per day, and more importantly the best airfare that day or day before is Over $250pp for the one way trip. All adds up, but still a good price.

Thanks for posting it.

I saw an ad in todays Sunday papers and they are advertising this cruise for much more than this price. I also checked out the US sites I use and they are still showing balcony cabins available.

We have been tempted but until I have my knee replacement all cruises are on hold:mad:

Hi Liz,

I rang a Us site, and thats when they told me about the balconies not being available....even though they are listed on their site. DH had total knee done a couple of years ago....all the best for your op.

I know, wouldn't life be easy on here if we could 'talk T/A's'...;)

I had a look too but getting a cheap flight right before Christmas doesn't seem possible.

Here's another cheapy especially for those from NZ:

Rhapsody of the Seas

21 September 2011 15 nights Honolulu to Auckland

Inside cabin US$953 plus taxes, that works out at approx US$65.00 per night!!!

Jilly:)

Thats a good deal Jilly,

Checked it out on the RCCL site which brings it up here as from

1,317 NZ dollars, which is

1,078 US dollars...

So the price on the site is roughly the same as quoted.

Yes, and it's easier for you to get to Honolulu than us here in QLD. We have to go Brisbane, Sydney, Honolulu.... such a drag...:(

Hi Jen and Jilly.

All I need to do is find a surgeon who is willing to do it for me as at 60 they consider me to be too young:o. I am back to one next week with new x-rays and it will have to be bone on bone before he will consider it.

Anyway back to the topic. That is most frustrating to find that the US sites are still showing balconies if they don't have any available:(

Its a very tempting cruise for us as we only have the one flight, and then we cruise back home to Auckland.

I think everyone is going for the Radiance, so they have cranked up her prices and dropped Rhapodies?

Hi Liz,

Keep trying. Bob was only 52 when he had his done. It was bone on bone, and even so had trouble getting it done. Ended up at Sutherland Hospital, which is way down southern suburbs of Sydney...and we are 1-2 hrs north of Sydney. The specialist was ex army dr. Back to subject....I was advised that the Concierge was available....that comes with balcony, but is way more in price. Good luck with your searches!

Do life experiences add to the quality for your final award? :p

Funny Debsta,

Yes I know its not far for you guys....but we have to drive from Central Coast, and that bit between Hornsby and Sutherland is long, esp for visits, lol. My advice...defer the PhD...Tahiti sounds nicer. Its the airfares that are the killer.

Funny you should mention that. Work wants me to work one day a week out of Gosford and I said no way jose cos it will take me 3 hours each way

I would love to do this particular cruise but I deferred last year, however, I've been known to drop everything to go on a cruise :p. I have my eye on Century in November which is end of semester though which has an extra Tahiti port too. I've got a deposit on the Diamond Singapore to Sydney if all else fails :D and maybe do Carnival  next September. Ahhh the dilemmas. And I should be working on this thesis now but what am I doing...........................cruise research haha
