Night Nursery on Cunard

Does anyone have experience using the night nursery on Cunard Ships? We're looking at a QM2 crossing if it matters. From what I could gather on the website, it sounds like the child must be dropped off already asleep or ready to fall asleep. Our daughter will be 22 months old, and would like to take advantage of this program but it's doubtful that she would willingly go to sleep if we drop her off at 6-7 p.m. Would they allow her to play quietly/ look at books or participate in the other kids programming if appropriate?

Would love to hear from anyone who has sailed Cunard with a toddler :).
