What's the difference between 2nd and 1st class on the train from Centraal Station to Schipol Airport? On the train's website it says it's only a 13-17 min ride.

When we get to the airport where would we go to find our hotel shuttle? We are staying at a small hotel, Tulip Inn Amsterdam Airport.

We paid 2nd and sat in the seats in the lobby entrance so we could keep the cases with us. For such a short journey the fold down seats were perfect

2nd class is ok, most of the train is 2nd class anyway. Stay with your luggage at all times. In rushhours trains may be busy and pickpockers love that..

On a somewhat related topic, regarding public transportation options while visiting Amsterdam, I found on Holland.com the tickets for unlimited use of metro, trams, ferries for 1,2,3 days etc. It talks about taking your confirmation email to Schipol airport plaza (?) when you arrive to redeem for your actual tickets...since we arrive via cruise ship, am I understanding correctly that this requires a trip out to the airport if we want to take advantage of these type tickets? Seems like there would be other locations to take care of this. Anyone familiar with this process? Ine?...thanks!

There are various card option in Amsterdam. The one you mention is incl. one or more museums. According their website there are pickupoints also on Damrak, which is easier to get to then the airport. Check here: https://hollandpass.com/shipping-collect

Picking it up at the airport is not feasible and we will not be near Central Station and am wondering is there anywhere near our hotel that we can pick up our cards using the voucher? If not, do we have any options to purchase, once we arrive?

As far as I know no other places to pick up those cards, as stated on some websites. Maybe your hotel knows more about this.
