Traveling on the breeze next Sunday, I have a check in time of 11:30 - 12:00 and was thinking about dropping off my soda's at that time, will it be considered rude for me to come barging in if the cabin is not ready, thanks

depending on the cabin steward, yes it can be rude.

it might be better to purchase faster to the fun (FTTF) which makes your cabin readiness a big priority.

Unless you have FTTF, you cannot access your cabin until 1:30pm. Yes, it would be rude to the housekeeping staff to barge in and drop them off. Your cabin may or may not actually be ready at your check in time, so you will be disrupting their hard work getting all of those cabins ready. You will have to carry them with you until cabins are ready at the usual time.

Have they changed rules to allow you to bring on soda?

You can bring a 12 pack of soda per person. It has been that way for a while. Water was not allowed to be carried on a few years ago.

this is in the faq

Bringing Liquor and Beverages Onboard - Embarkation

Guests are prohibited from bringing water, sodas and other non-alcoholic beverages on board that are packaged in glass or plastic bottles.

A small quantity of non-alcoholic beverages (i.e., sparkling water, sodas, energy drinks, juice, and milk) packaged in cans or cartons may be brought on board on embarkation day and must be in the guest's carry-on luggage. A small quantity is considered a maximum of 12 sealed, unopened cans/cartons of 12 ounces each or less per person.

Guests are prohibited from bringing alcoholic beverages on board with the following exception - At the beginning of the cruise during embarkation day only, guests (21 years of age and older) may bring one 750 ml bottle of sealed/unopened wine or champagne per person in their carry-on luggage. All liquor, beer, other forms of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages outside of this exception are strictly prohibited in both carry-on and checked luggage and such items will be confiscated and discarded and no compensation will be provided.

That was going to be question also. I thought no water or soda from outside the ship anymore .... hence why they made the cases of water to be purchased before boarding an affordable price.

the rule is no bottles.... so you can bring things in cans. if you find canned water , you can do that too. 12 - 12 ounce cans per person is allowed.

The rule was because of smugglers sneaking alcohol in bottles.

If your cabin door is closed and your ship is no longer giving S&S cards at check-in, you may not even have a way to get in your cabin.

As others have mentioned, not only is it rude, it's not allowed. If they allowed you to "just drop off sodas", then someone down the hall to "just drop off their bag" and someone else to "just drop off their luggage" and so forth. It would get out of hand. That's one reason Carnival is going to putting the cards in the mailboxes at 1:30 to keep people out of them until they're ready, except FTTF guests. (and d/p? I don't know).

Years ago one of my docs, an immune system specialist, cautioned against eating or drinking from cans, not really safe. I can't even drink canned soda without getting a metallic taste. Even plastic leaches into food and drinks from plastic containers.

I didn't know about the alcohol-sneaking problem. Makes sense.

If you have access to the corridor where your cabin is located and porters have begun leaving luggage outside the rooms, I don't see any reason why 3 cases of soda shouldn't be left outside as well.

You don't have access to the hallways.

Here's a thought. If you've made friends with someone in your roll call that has priority boarding (Diamond, Platinum, FTTF), see if they'll let you drop off your sodas in their cabin until around 1:30.
