NASSAU ON A BUDGET or GET AWAY FROM THE CROWD

In 2015 my (adult) daughter and I were on a cruise which stopped in Nassau. Having been there many times in the past I wanted something different to do, but something that wasn't going to cost me a lot of money.

I found ADRASTRA GARDENS. What a great place to visit for anyone young or old. It is not just a garden but also a Zoo. It is a short way out of the downtown area and we actually took the #10 bus for $1.25 each. That will drop you off a few short blocks away and then its an easy walk. You can also take a cab but I don't know what the fare would be.

They have a Flamingo show and they also let you feed the birds that are in big aviaries. Stroll thru 4 acres of beautiful tranquil gardens and get away from the crowds that are on the ship tours and in town. I found plenty of places to sit down when I needed to. Don't miss the Secret Garden.

We asked one of the store owners and they directed us to the bus stop. It is actually at the far end (to the right) of the main street.

Ask anyone for help. They were very eager to assist.

Nope, but have exact change if you don’t want change in local currency.
