Maasdam Stuck in Boston Harbor

Just boarded Maasdam today and pushed out to harbor and engines failed. Some toilets not working either. Good thing is get to see Fourth of July fireworks in Boston Harbor. [emoji573]. Hopefully be underway soon! 9:28 PM AND ANCHORED in Boston harbor.

Sorry to hear Maasdam is having mechanical issues but you'll (hopefully) get to enjoy one of the best fireworks displays. I'm listening to the Pops Concert on the Esplanade and it's wonderful.

Hopefully you'll be underway after you see the fireworks.

It's a short ride to Bar Harbor. :)

No better place to be stuck on the 4th of July.

On the Maasdam on the Atlantic Adventurer in 2014, our engines stopped as we were approaching the Canaries. Everything became very quiet, until the Captain came on and said "It's alright, we're in deep water!" We didn't know whether to laugh or worry! Everything started up again about half an hour later.

Wow. I saw her anchored earlier and figured she was there for the fireworks, as other ships had done in the past. I hope you get moving soon. Please keep us posted.

I think they are very concerned. We are anchored in the port. Last communication was from the captain about 3 hours ago. 10 PM now. Gonna have hard time getting to Bar Harbour now. Lots of fireworks though. And no Code red. Just normal 48 hour hand you your food

The fireworks just started and they're beautiful. Great display.

Hope Maasdam is underway soon. I can't imagine Coast Guard is going to let them sit inn the harbor, not tied up, for too long.

I'm watching one of the live ship traffic channels -- one of the tugboats that escorted you out is now on its way back to you.

Yeah port radio says tug will escort you back.

I suspected Coast Guard would not let you stay anchored. So sorry Maasdam is having these difficulties.

Anyone hear anything else? Justice is still alongside.
