Star clippers ports of call rome to rome

Hi we are doing a 7 day Rome to Rome cruise on Royal clipper. Our ports of call will be Ponza, Palmarola, Sorrento, Amalfi, Taormina and Lipari.

Does anyone have experience with star clippers and know what times they are in port or how easy it is to do private excursions.

Any recommendations for companies for any of the above ports. There will be 4 of us

Your ports lend themselves very well to just going ashore and wandering on your own.

I don't know Ponza (yet, will be headed there next year) or Palmarola, but Sorrento, Amalfi, Lipari and Taormina (assuming you are porting at Giardini Naxos) are quite easy -- pleasant towns best explored by wandering.

Sorry, I have not -- did most of them on another smaller cruise line.

Does Star Clippers not provide you with any specific port times?

I’ve taken a wonderful cruise with Star Clippers with a different itinerary. There is a thread on the Star Clipper Forum discussing the time issue. According to that thread, if you email them they will provide you with specific times. We did DIY in most of the ports or took a few ship tours.
