Civitavecchia - Realistic time off the ship

Hi:

We have a cruise on the Meraviglia planned for November out of Civitavecchia and we’ve just learned that our airline changed our flight home from 1:00pm to 11:30am. I’m trying to get a feel for what time one can realistically expect to be off the ship at this port. We have sailed with MSC before and were off the ship by 7:00am with self assist debarkation, but this will be our first time out or Civitavecchia with any cruise line.

What time do you arrive in port?

Ships often arrive quite early in Civitavecchia but usually even when a ship arrives at 5:00 am or so, passengers aren't allowed off until later.

With an 11:30 flight (assuming it is to the US), you want to be at the airport by 8:30, and the trip takes an hour by private transfer.

I would suggest posting this on the MSC board to see if anyone can give you an answer specific to that line.

Thank you! [emoji3] Our itinerary shows a 7:00am arrival time, but the last time we sailed on MSC with a similarly posted time, we were in a cab to the airport by 6:45am.
