Seven seas society membership benefits

We are planning to take a long cruise soon and we have never sailed on Regent's before. Something looks very interesting but need to understand the different levels. Voyage collection 2019-2020 brochure indicates that 'upgrade to tier silver status on your fist voyage when sailing 21 nights and more'. Regent's website indicates also that ' First time guests sailing 21 nights and more receive instant recognition at the silver level. Does this mean that if we book at least a 21 nights on Regent's ship, we would get all the benefits of the silver level, including priority shore excursions and dining reservations before sailing? Thanks for sharing your experience and understanding on this.

We just completed our Regent first cruises. We enjoyed 4 separate legs, which Regent combined as 2 cruises, the first was 39 nights (so we qualified for silver) and the second was 24. We did not have priority booking of excursions or dining. I believe the benefits do not kick in until you have actually boarded.

You will become a Silver Seven Seas Society member the moment you step foot on the ship. However, since reservations are done months in advance, if you do not book a concierge or above suite, you cannot book early shore excursions or dining reservations because you have not as yet boarded the ship.

Not sure if you read section on Regent's website that explains this policy. Basically, here are the differences between booking reservations when you are in a concierge or above suite or are a Silver Seven Seas Society member or if you are not:

Excursions: Can book online 240 days in advance of the cruise if you are Silver and above or in a concierge or above suite. Otherwise, you can book online at 180 days.

Dining: Concierge and Silver members can book at 90 days prior to the cruise. Otherwise it would be 75 days.

Also, you can deviate your air (i.e. choose flights that you want - based on contracts Regent has with air carriers) 270 days in advance of your cruise. This is not tied into your status or suite level. The cost to deviate is $175/person and I highly recommend deviating your flights. If you wait for Regent to book your flights, you won't receive fight information until 75 days prior to your cruise.

Hope that this helps!

As others have said, you will not receive your Silver SSS benefits until you step on board for your cruise. You would not be able to take advantage of priority advance reservations (unless booking Concierge or above), but will get the other benefits (garment pressing and phone time).

As you are new to Regent then make sure you quote the Regent Ambassador Programme when booking to receive a $250 discount; see details here.

If you do not personally know any previous Regent cruisers then someone here on CC will be happy to supply their details for the form.

Also suggest you book via a luxury cruiseline TA rather than direct with Regent, as you will obtain further benefits.

Whatever you decide, enjoy your long cruise :)
