Mariner Status Update

It has now been 15 days since I disembarked and my mariner status has not yet updated. Have any of you recently noticed a delay in your credits being posted? Thanks in advance.

Be patient. It sometimes takes some time.

Ours was posted within a week after our October cruise. But with all the other problems the HAL site is having, it may not be surprising it's taking so long.

Seems to me someone posted recently that of your cruise was a segment of a longer cruise it would take longer to post. I will not be looking for that thread so hopefully my memory isn't faulty ;).

You can call the Mariner Society and ask them when you will see your recent voyage days displayed -- 1-800-547-9139

I was the one posting this. I questioned the Mariner Society and was told that if your cruise was part of a longer voyage your days would not be updated until the longer portion was completed.

In my case, I got it the same day the longer portion was completed.

Good advice, KK. IMO it makes good sense to call the person/entity that caused a problem and/or can resolve it.

I have also been waiting for the update. I called the Mariner office number and was told--after a long wait on hold--that something is going on with our cruise and it could be another week or two before the computer problem is resolved. The Mariner office was very nice and gave me an estimate only. Hope the official numbers are out soon

DW and my Mariner status has been updated already and are cruise ended Oct. 24.

MaxeyMom, thank you! I very much appreciate that information. (MM and I were on the same cruise.)

I am eager for the information to be posted because it will have a bearing on my future cruise decisions... and I would like those decisions to be within the timeframe to take advantage of the ZPM promo. I am also interested to see whether my casino experiment produced any results.

I did submit an inquiry to the Mariner Society via their link so I will post the results once I receive a response.

It is quite unusual for maariner days to not be posted promoptly. So manyt imes I've been amazed how quickly our days showed up. Llikely a computer glitch has caused your delay but surely they will get it corrected ASAP.

We got off the Koningsdam December 20 and our mariner status was updated exactly 2 weeks after our cruise.

I must have missed the post on the casino experiment — fill me in please!

It turned out as DaveOKC said,,,, my sailing was part of a longer sailing so the credits posted about 10 days after that segment ended. As for the casino experiment,,,, I was going to play to see if I would start getting casino rates. It was a fail. I will play again in March and see what happens.

Hahaha. A lot of members have reported receiving amazing casino rates from time (and money) spent in the casino. At the moment, to me, there doesn't appear to be any rhyme or reason to invoking offers because some people have reported spending as little as $20 on the slots.

I think the issue is not about how much you win or lose in the casino, but rather how much you PLAY. This is how it works in land based casinos.

So, the person reporting that they "spent" only $20 in the casino may be stating how much they lost in total, but they played for a long time (having won as they played), so they got a great casino rate.

Another person may have lost $500, but they only played for a relatively short time, and thus they did not get a casino rate.

Also, remember that gambling is an area where people often do not tell you the truth about how much they actually won or lost. Common sense is that the casino will not "comp" you a cruise (or great rate reduction) based on people losing/playing only a small amount.

I have spoken to several in the casino who get deals and they are adamant it is time, not just money ;)

So, if you go and play for just 20 minutes, it's not going to do anything.

But, if you like to play on sea days, after dinner, whatever, it could pan out.

What I spend in the casino is much less than the discount we receive on the cruise ;).

I agree, "coin in" counts. the words of wisdom I heard once was Maximum Bet no matter what machine. Not sure if that is true or not, but sharing ;)

I will if she gets anything, but I SERIOUSLY doubt that is enough play.

The Max Bet comment I suspect is due to the slot's payout schedule. On most machines you cannot hit the big jackpot without playing max bet.

Made $20, lost it all. I thought maybe the deal was based on other factors. Building loyalty. Getting ships filled and going back to hurricane affected areas. So went in Dec. And had a fantastic time.

How do you get the offer and is it a specific percentage they offer across the board? Do they email you? HAL calls you? How much time do you have to make up your mind? Am so surprised this was offered after your first cruise -- good for you!
