Hello everyone! Anyone booked on the above? We fly to Barbados but return to Southampton. We live in North Yorkshire and wondered If anyone is travelling back to this area and if, so, what is the best way to do it? Hire a car/train/fly/coach? Anyone done it before? Advice gratefully recieved. ;)

Fred have an arrangement with Eavesway coaches to meet their ships so may be worth investigating if there is one which goes to your area.

Also there is a direct train from Southampton to the North East every 2 hours in the daytime which will no doubt call at York and Darlington.

Where are you flying from? We fly out from Manchester , sailing back to southampton and have opted forthe free transfer coach back to Manchester airport. We will then catch the train home from there.I know Chesterfield is a bit closer than N yorkshire but it might be an option?

Sorry!! Just realised this is the Fred thread! We have got a cruise with fred in January but our translantic cruise is with P and o so ignore the bit about included transfer to airport! As someone else said there is the train from Southampton option and thats what we did on our translantic cruise earlier this year

We have used train for one way cruises like that. Only problems is that trains north tend to need a change through the London underground, which can be a pain if you have much luggage.

We have got round that by using the 'Baggage Handling Company' to transfer one or more of our cases the one way. Prices are per case, per direction and it cost about £33 for the one case last year, but works a treat if you do not want to lug case(s) on the train. Their member of staff will be at the far side of the luggage hall to collect your case and it will be delivered to you house 2-3 days later.

Edit - just realised this thread was started a while ago - strange the OP has not come back with a response.
