DW & I are doing Vancouver to LA cruise. Our ship returns to the Port of Los Angeles, in San Pedro. Would like to hear thoughts of ways to do transportation from port to LAX Hilton including experiences and cost for us.

Also the ship arrives 6:15AM and should we reserve ahead of time but what do we say as to when we can meet the transport? Or do we find transport after we disembark, get our luggage? Appreciate hearing about experiences and recommendations.

You have various options.

There are three that I would consider.

Arranging for a private car. We use Execucar at www.execucar.com Price is around $76.00 and I would do this ahead of time.

Using Uber or Lyft. You cannot do that ahead of time. You would do it via their app after you claim your luggage. With Uber cost for a basic car is $33.00 to $44.00 and for the next step up is $56.00 to $74.00.

Last choice would be taxi.

If you are arranging a vehicle in advance I would say pickup at 9:00 AM.

Another option is a shared shuttle such as Super Shuttle at www.supershuttle.com but if there are two of you I would not go this route.

You can also look at ontime1, another reputable private car service, and they are $55 from San Pedro to LAX. We have used them several times and they have always been on time with clean vehicles and courteous drivers.
