Shore Excursions

Has any one ever used Viator.com Shore Excursions ?" What was your experience with the tour ?

We understand that they have a guarantee that if the tour does not get you back to the ship on time they will pay to get you to your ship .

We did use them once in Rome from a hotel to see the Museum & Chapel .The guide was excellent & we completely enjoyed that tour :D

We have never used Viator while ON a cruise but have used them quite a few times during pre-cruise and post-cruise stays in Rome, Barcelona, Venice, Beijing, Shanghai and Civitavecchia. Although they are often just a middleman operation for other tour companies, we have found them and the companies they represent to be very reliable and the tours are always exactly as advertised on their site.

If you look on the Ports boards, there are tons of discussions of various vendors. As mentioned, they are a broker- rarely do they provide the actual service. In our case we had great difficulty contacting the actual vendor when there were some problems. I understand they have gotten better about this, but we prefer to deal direct with vendors.
