Need Hotel for Rotterdam

Recommended Posts

We will be cruising from Rotterdam to Boston on a HAL ship. We plan to fly to AMS and take the train to Rotterdam to stay 2 or 3 nights before the cruise. We would like a recommendation for a nice hotel that would be convenient for transport to the cruise terminal and also transportation to visit Delft. We are a little too old to be pulling our luggage for long distances. Any information/advice is welcome. Thank you.

Hotel New York (former HAL headoffice) is next to the Rotterdam cruise terminal as also is the Hotel Nhow. Toget to the centre or trainstation you need either a cab, Uber or public transportation like tram or metro.

On the other side of the Erasmusbridge and the river - overlooking the cruise terminal is Hotel Inntel.

More closer to Centraal Station (for your transportation to Delft) are the Premier Suites Hotel and Marriott.

More or less in between the terminal and centraal station is Hilton Hotel.

But a special hotel is the former ss Rotterdam, docked not too far from the cruise terminal.

Just to mentione a few, as you can see like any city the choice is wide.

We stayed at the Hilton and it was perfect for using local transportation.

It is a short work from Central Station and right by a traffic circle where a lot of tram routes stop.

Using maps.google.com, it is less than a 10-minute walk (it's all flat) and there is even a tram that runs from Central Station to the traffic circle.

It is even possible to use public transportation to the pier (we visited that as part of our pre-cruise sightseeing) but when it came to going with luggage, we used a taxi

IMHO, as you're going on a HAL cruise, this is the standout first choice: https://ssrotterdam.com/. See more via the link in my signature. If this is still where HAL places long-term parking, you may (like us) be able to use the free shuttle bus to take you to the cruise ship terminal.

This is also an obvious option: https://ssrotterdam.com/hotel-new-york/ - and that has the advantage of being within easy walking distance of the cruise ship terminal.

Nothing else has quite the historical connection with the line, so I heartily second Ine's suggestions of them both.
