Too funny! And so well written!

Any comments about Explore's Lounge/Lincoln Center? The old format with 2 or actual Lincoln Center musicians?

Thanks S to G trying to be G to P.

Not much into classical except classical country but there were two guys one on the fiddle, I mean violin and the other on the piano.

Just some information that others have not mentioned. Bruce, cd, gave out a lot information in his coffee chat and book club meetings. He said next year HAL will be adding BBking and other entertainment features to this ship. These venues bring in money, such as alcohol sales. Yes, the library and explorer’s cafe will be moving to the Crow’s Nest like on other ships that have been updated. He mentioned that the Cros’s Nest is just a lot of empty space. The entertainment, lounge acts, and even the cooking shows are booked through a company on NYC. He even went to NYC to become familiar with Oprey’s Book club selections.

I had read on here that HALwas hiring crew members from Thailand. There were three new crew members, two guys and a gal. We met the young woman on the Lido deck. Her English was excellent and lived up to the standards of a HAL employee.

RNB! Great review! Although we've been to Alaska 3x we'll be taking the kids and grandkids along with us next summer - I'll be sure to have everyone read your review so they understand Alaska on a big boat...

Thanks Gary & Cynthia.

I let you know possibly a little secret. So don't tell nobody.

We took our kids and grandkids to Alaska in the year 2000 (when glaciers were glaciers). Was able to book directly with helicopter company, I believe the name was Tremco, on a ride to the glacier in Skagway. Saved a bunch of money since fare is based on weights and not person, so kids flew for much less money than HAL charged. Remember, don't tell anyone.

OMG, I just noticed your message!!! I thought -- actually, was HOPING -- that they would leave our remaining R-class and S-class ships as they were. This is BAD NEWS! Wonder what they are planning to do with the resulting large space aft of the casino and forward of the MDR when this happens. And the library contents will certainly be decimated. Can't imagine fitting ALL of the existing books into the space that will be remaining for the library in the CN after the EXC and cafe are installed.

I would suggest a new thread devoted to this issue.

If you want to have a later dessert and avoid a wait, you can always order dessert through room service...you don't have to wait for the 'clearing the table' routine and can have it as a late treat, just as our family waits to have pumpkin pie at thanksgiving until well after the meal.

No way. Half to have Chocolate Volcano while hot in the Pinnacle Grill or I may miss the late night eruption
