Premium Beverage Package

Do they ever offer this at a discounted price? $59.99 pp per day is a little steep for someone like us who may indulge in just 2 or 3 (and the odd 4:D) drinks a day when we are on holiday.

How many drinks would you have to 'force yourself' to drink in order for the package to be worthwhile?

Just don't buy it and pay as you go. I drink a lot more than you but it's beer only for me and taking in to account port days where you are off the ship, it isn't worth it.

Neglecting specialty coffee, sodas and mocktails, beers run between $6.00 and $6.75 depending upon the brand so about 9-10 beers and most cocktails run between $7.50 and $10 so about 6-8 mixed drinks. You would appear to be better off just paying by the drink without the package.

Their outrageous price of $59.99 pp per day plus gratuity is based upon some people sharing drinks, which is frowned upon. ;)

Just buy as you go & you'll be far ahead. :)

No discounts on the PBP except for the Sip & Sail package. It is offered no. You can get the PVP on a balcony or better cabin sailing June 2019 thru June 2020 (approximate dates0. Check with your TA or Princess

We never get offered " Sip & Sail Package" in the UK like you do in US.

The regular drink prices on Princess are very reasonable. Even with a lot of specialty coffees, waters, and sodas the package would not be worth it even at 4 alcoholic drinks everyday IMO.

If applicable you can see if you can take advantage of the Sip and Sale for your cruise and category using a US TA?

If you are a 2-3 drink per day person this package is really not designed for you unless you also drink tons of water, fountain soft drinks and specialty coffees. This is designed for people like us who will drink 6 + drinks per day, every day plus water for the gym and several lattes per day. And no we do not share

the make or break is the port days...how much will you consume on those days and will the sea days 'make up' for those days

and yes, it's for the people who enjoy cocktails, wine, coffees, multiple waters on a daily basis - and even a few of those on port days... pre dinner drink, couple of glasses of wine with dinner, after dinner, casino, show, nightcap..

day, after day, after day...

The package is actually $68.99 per day -

"The Premier Beverage Package is US $59.99 per day plus 15% service charge (totaling $68.99 per day) for all itineraries except Australia. For all Australian-based vessels, the package is AUD $86.99 per day which includes a service charge."

Nothing is for free. The cruise fares are adjusted accordingly.

While not free we had refared with the Sip n Sail promotion from our prebooked rate and it only increased our fares about $70pp total. According to my personalizer the package is worth over $1k per person so in my book I will pay $140 to get over a 2k package savings. YMMV.

We are getting the Sip n Sail for the very first time on our next cruise to Alaska on the Royal.

Normally my DH has the Soda and More package 8.05 a day and I would have the coffee card $35.65. This works for us. Oh and we buy bottle water usually too and that's $6.90 for 12.

This will be an interesting experiment to see if this is really worth it or not. My DH is not a true drinker of cocktails (couple glasses of wine with dinner). I on the other hand do imbibe a bit more :) I just did a quick tally on what I thought I would consume on the ship from 6 am to 6 am.

It would be: 2 -3 double macchiatos, 1 - Frappuccino, 2- bottled water, 1 -2 soda's, 1 -2 afternoon cocktails, 2 glasses of wine with dinner. Sometimes I have an after dinner drink. I added that up and it comes pretty darn close to the pre-gratuities cost of $59.99.

Would I get the package if it wasn't offered free? (Yes I know, its not free) Probably not.

The countess ( code name for my beautiful wife) and I are with ya. The last night on a b2b we received the statement and boy oh boy it did add up to..sticker shock. :o Ever since it's been more affordable to go with sip and sale especially if ya like wine with dinner.
