credit card charges (UK)

Hi,

My final payment is due next month and I want to know if Cunard can still add 2% if one is living

in the UK and pays by credit card.

I believe the UK government have banned this practice, but as Cunard is registered abroad the charge can still be applied.

I think this could be rather unclear from a legal point of view.

No they cannot add a credit card charge anymore and it has not been banned by the UK government it is a EU regulation bought in in January.

From the Cunard uk website

"The legislation related to the charging of credit card fees will be changing on 13 January 2018.

As a result guests will not be charged a credit card fee on payment transactions made from 11 January 2018."

There are a fair number of contributors to this forum who live in or around Southampton. They might be put out at someone in the UK considering them to live 'abroad'. :)

Nope. Just think how many companies trading in the UK and EU are registered outside the EU.
