Canarian flavours 8 February

Hi all

I've just booked this cruise is anyone else on it we're flying from Manchester and arrive in Tenerife at 12.45 will we have to wait long to board the ship and as it's a late sailaway would it be possible to do an afternoon excursion

You will be able to board the ship as soon as you arrive. You can go ashore once you have checked in BUT you have to be back on board for the compulsory safety drill which is usually around 6 p.m. (you should be told the time whilst on your transfer coach). You would only have time to go into Santa Cruz and, to be honest, there isn't a lot there to see there - so if I were you I would relax and find your way around the ship.

Just to add I wouldn’t bother with the HoHo in Santa Cruz: if I recall correctly it was massively overpriced and there was very little to see on it. We just walked around port instead and had a coffee (there are a few nice spots of people watching).

If the ship docks at its usual berth in Tenerife there is nowhere close by to have a drink ashore until you walk into the city centre.
