Mobile passport experience

We just disembarked from harmony of the seas this morning. Per the suggestion of crewmembers, I downloaded the app for the passport. They told me it would be quicker. I was pleasantly surprised how quick and efficient everything was moving this morning when we left Harmony. When we left away since last spring, it took us about two hours to get off the ship. The TSA had only arranged for three staff members to empty a whole ship the passengers at Easter break.

As a result of my last experience, I planned for a lot of extra time before I flew out today. We ended up making our way through the lines within 15 minutes approximately. We downloaded the mobile app, stood in line for the mobile app users, and realized that those without the app for moving a lot faster than those in line at the mobile app.

Instead of standing there and waiting with our mobile app, we used the old school paper passports. May be at a different time the app will make things easier, but today The old school method of paper passports was a lot faster than the mobile app. We saved enough time going through the other lines today.

As a result of getting off so quickly today, we'

re back in our hotel we used last week, Embassy suites, and hanging out by the pool while we wait for our flight to later today.

Where can I find information on the app process? Is this available at Port Canaveral or only at Port Everglades? Available only for Royal Caribbean cruises? On the Oasis in a couple of weeks and a Princess in March.

The link listed above should work. I also noticed on the App Store, people rated and reviewed the app. And you may find which cities they use this in.

I took this picture on the ship. It's no different than the directions you will find on the link above. I did have trouble scanning our passports though. When I opened the app one of the first things I had to do was scan the passport. I could not get the scan to work. As a result, I had to enter the information for each person in my family. It didn't take long though. It probably took me about 10 minutes to set it up.

Totally different experience for DW and I when disembarking last month. Just breezed through, no delay at all. We also have Nexus, but that line was a bit longer and slower, although not nearly as long or slow as the passports only line.

Freedom in Port Everglades we end up using the old paper version

After breakfast we filled all the info on the app but since we had time to spare we also filled the paper just in case. As we got our luggage the app line was huge while regular lines were almost empty. People wanted to fun from app line to regular but they didn't have the forms and they were not giving them at the port.

We planned to use Mobile Passport when we disembarked from Harmony last weekend. The app was really pushed onboard -- if you watch the disembarkation channel in your cabin, the cruise director talks all about Mobile Passport and why you want to use it. He even suggested that you wait until you dock in Florida to download it, as your regular cellular data plan will be working then.

When we got to customs, there was ONE person working the mobile line. Just one. Needless to say, that was not the best line to be in. We opted to go into a regular line, and had to fill out the paperwork there...but it was still much faster than going mobile.

Edit: We walked down to customs with the concierge, so I'm not sure if the line we were escorted to was any different than the "regular" line. I wasn't paying much attention to that...so I suppose it's possible that the line we were in was shorter than others. I do know, however, that the mobile line only had 1 customs rep.

Ironic?

Typo. It cut out words. I meant to say that it was ironic that the fast pass line was the longest line there was today. Like the other poster mentioned, there was only one agent working that line today. They'll eventually figure it out.
