C-PAP & Flying

It's has been several years since we have flown. I take a c-pap with me. When going through security i used to pull the motor side out of the carry bag and place it in it's own bin.

I was wondering if this is still the procedure?

Also I now carry a extension cord in the same bag, Are these allowed?

I do not fly a lot , but my wife and I both have C-PAPS! If is a short trip we put both machines in one bag to carry them on. Yes you do have to pull them out, extension cords are allowed. If it is a long trip, meaning we are checking luggage, we pack them in our checked luggage. Never a problem.
