sramey Posted June 6, 2018 #1 Share Posted June 6, 2018 Quick question.... we are going on a Caribbean cruise in October 2018 for one week. Our passport expires December 2018. Should we renew our passport before we go , so that passport expiration date will be greater than 6 months? Kamloops50 Posted June 6, 2018 #2 Share Posted June 6, 2018 If your from the US , passport isn't required but recommended for closed loop cruises.

thinfool Posted June 6, 2018 #5 Share Posted June 6, 2018 It's your choice... the six month rule is generally not in effect in the Caribbean. As already noted, you don't even need a passport for closed loop Caribbean cruises. (Cuba is the exception)
zqvol Posted June 7, 2018 #6 Share Posted June 7, 2018 Since you could take that cruise just using a birth certificate, there is no need to renew your passport prior to sailing.
