Preferred location in Seattle....Lake Union or Pioneer Square?

Recommended Posts

We are debating between 2 hotels for the night before our Alaskan cruise. Both are less than 2 miles from the port. Option 1 is Courtyard Seattle Lake Union and option 2 is Courtyard Seattle Pioneer Square. We'd like to be close to sightseeing activities since we'll be arriving early the day before. Which would you prefer?

Thanks!

Several years ago we stayed at the Courtyard Seattle Pioneer Square for an Alaska cruise on the NCL Pearl. One of the factors is that we travel by train now (vs flying) and Pioneer was convenient to Amtrak's King Street station and the cruise terminal at Pier 66 (less than $10 taxi) It was also an easy cab ride to Pike Place Market (also less than $10). Easy walk to Pioneer Square. We didn't do a lot of sightseeing in Seattle though. While I can't compare the two hotels, we have no complaints about the Courtyard Pioneer Square and we stayed there again last July. I would suggest that the areas you would like to sightsee would be a determining factor.

Enjoy
