which beach has lots of sand fleas?

We went to a beach in roatan i believe and there were tons of sand fleas. We all got bit up pretty badly. can anyone tell me if there is a beach with excessive amounts of sand fleas...we would like to avoid that beach?

My daughter was complaining about them when we were at jolly beach 2 weeks ago. Didn't like the beach or facilities at all.

No matter where ... be sure to sit in a chair and not a towel directly on the sand. ;)

We were a Valley Church beach a little over 3 weeks ago, sitting on a towel and had no problem whatever. However, it was a breezy day...not sure if that affects sandfleas or not.

Sand fleas are staying in the water, so sitting on the towel will never be a problem.

I went to Valley Church last week and after settling on my sun lounger was bitten twice by sand fleas. Just to clarify they look just like flies (rather that actual fleas) and drew blood! Luckily I had repellant with me and after applying they didnt bother me again. No swelling or problems with the bites either.
