I have been looking for a thread on Jade information since it's update. I will be going on her in Nov 17 for a Panama Canal Cruise. Please provide any helpful information or tips. Thanks in advance.
I'll be on her in two weeks. I'll let you know!

There was a massive amount of info on these boards when the Jade was refurbed, with many threads including pictures and reports.

The search function on here isn’t great, but should bring up some of them (I would try to find some for you, but I’m posting on my phone).

I'm wondering if the Jade has switched to the new(er) specialty restaurant menus? And the new(er) MDR menus?

I believe so. We sailed in August and I believe that the newer menus were used (at least, it seemed that way).

We sailed on the Jade end of July 2017 (so a few months after the large refurbishment), and the ship looked great, seemed like we were on a brand new ship. Regarding specialty restaurant menus, they had the newest one in Cagney's but still the old one in LeBistro (the same they have had for several years now). I believe they did have the newer MDR menus as well.

Old menu in Le Bistro (with the 4 cornets starting the appetizers) - however the beef main dish for 2 was missing [emoji20]

We sailed now in December.

Old menu also at Cagney's from the appetizer part but new one from the side dishes (and no lobster anymore). Side dish missing was at least baked potato which most definitely was on the old menu previously (we sailed her Mar 2016 and now Dec 2017).

Funnily enough the Cagney's menu on iconcierge was not the same as the actual Cagney's menu [emoji16]

Just off the Jade last week. Our first cruise with NCL and our 8 cruise over all.

Liked nearly everything about the ship. The week prior to the 10 day Jade cruise we did a 7 day on Rhapsody of the Seas and there was huge difference.

We had a deck 10 balcony on Jade. Nicely renovated, and very modern looking. Plenty of storage around the room. The thing we liked best was the bathroom. Well laid out so that two of you could be in there at the same time unlike some of our other cruises.

Updated tv in the room with usual selection of channels. They did have two movie channels that played continuous loops of up to date films (Kong, Great Wall, Fast and Furious etc)

Loved the complimentary dining venues such as O Sheehans and Jasmine Garden. Have never experienced this before on other ships and they were great options. We used O Sheehans quite a lot for lunch or maybe just some dessert in the evening while we played cards. The place was barely every busy and we always got a booth seat by the windows. Burgers in there were very good along with their breakfast omelettes etc.

Lots of bars on board but our favourite was the Mojito bar up by Cagneys Steakhouse. I found that a lot of the bar tenders in the general bar areas were just throwing cocktails together without much thought as a lot of people were on drink packages and were knocking the booze back. But in the more specialised bars such as the Mojito or Martini bar they put more thought and effort into it.

On sea days the pool areas got a bit crowded and they arent that big. I went for breakfast early most mornings and would sit outside in these big comfy outdoor chairs by the pool. At 730am I was watching people run around throwing towels on chairs and trying to claim them for the day. If being by the pool is not important then go to the deck up above the Spinnaker lounge as they have a sun deck and its marked as a quiet zone. You cant hear any music from the pool area and its nice and relaxing, right at the front of the ship.

Casino wasnt to bad and was never very smokey. Come to think of it smoke never seemed to be an issue at all on this cruise which was nice.

Buffet was good for breakfast but pretty much "blah" the rest of the time. Main dining rooms were ok but had better on Royal Caribbean. We did Teppanyaki one night and that was a lot of fun. Also did La Cucina (Italian) but I have had a lot better at Olive Garden or mom and pop places. Things were way to salty or just bland. Cagneys was very good, had a Porterhouse that was prepared to perfection.

We like this size ship and we found it pretty easy to find our way around. Not into the mega ships so this was ideal

Thanks for taking the time to recap.

How did you like the entertainment?

Which ship did you like better?

As far as entertainment goes — it can be hit or miss. If there is an aerialist (or duo) on board, definitely catch the show. When we were there in August, the show was amazing. Also catch the final show, Elements, which was quite good. Some of the other shows were so-so. Get to the theater 20-30 minutes early for the best seats.

The Spinnaker was one of our favorite places to hang out. We had a great bartender/server there who took great care of us. The bar at the Great Outdoors was also very convenient — and never a line at all. When in port, we liked hanging out there, since the views were great and snacks and drinks were very close by.

The Jasmine Garden had some surprisingly good dishes (and a few that were just ok, like the desserts). We went a few a few times on our 15 night U.K./Norway/Iceland voyage.

Le Bistro was our favorite specialty restaurant, followed by Cagney’s.

Plenty of storage in our mini suite, though some of the drawers were waaaaay too deep. We put some packing cubes in the drawers to help organize them a bit.

There are USB ports on the underside of the sconces by the bed — perfect for charging cell phones.

We brought several magnetic clips with us, which made it easy to hang up important documents and lanyards by the door.

On our sailing, they had a German fest on the pool deck one day. Not sure if it was unique to our sailing (or European sailings in general),but it was quite good. Good German food, German beers that were not normally available on board, and a polka band. If they happen to have it on your sailing, I would go.

Can you check bottled water like you can on Royal Caribbean? Is there a mini fridge in the balcony rooms?

Thanks!

I am also sailing in March on the Jade. Would love to see who the officers are. I saw one in a video rights after refurb, and want to see if she is still there...Can't remember her name, but know her face/name if I see it.

zbayette...regarding the toiletries. I wont be able to tell you the specific brand (Im a guy, I dont look at that stuff)..buttttt...it smelled very nice. It was Lemongrass i believe and we used so much of it that the cabin steward had to fill us up 2/3 of the way through the cruise. We brought our own products but my wife was more than happy to use the ships.

She did run out of conditioner sooo (here is where it pays to be nice to your cabin steward) we asked our steward if she had any and she gave us a bunch of Bulgari ? products that they use in the Haven. Stuff seems to be pretty pricey on line but she kept giving it to us. We did tip her extra for some body lotion earlier in the cruise, then a few bucks on xmas day as a present so I think she was just taking care of us in her own way.

The products were all excellent though. No dry skin or flaky scalp etc.
