I am finding conflicting Information:we are thinking about booking a H8 Haven corner suite for 2 ppl with a connecting BB Balcony room for 2ppl.

Will all 4x travelers be able to take advantage of the Haven privileges, i.e. Private pool, Haven Restaurant & Bar etc?

Thanks for your input!

No. There are some threads where people talked about having kids in the connecting room and getting all the perks but those are pretty few and far between.

We have tried that in the past. If they do not have a haven room card they will not be able to use the haven facilities.

They can join you in the Haven areas as your guest. To have a meal in Haven Restaurant they are charged I think a 25$ pp per meal fee, but they indeed can join you. I can tell you if your guests cause a disruption, they will ask you to leave. We saw that with a family that brought like 12 kids into the Haven pool. You couldn’t hear yourself think. A haven guest complained and the kids that were guests were asked to leave.

So answer to your question! Yea and no!

If that indeed happened it was an anomaly. You can have a couple of guests in the restaurant for a few times as you said but you cannot bring guests in to use Haven facilities otherwise. They can go straight to your cabin if you are escorting them.

We traveled with friends who were not in the haven and they spent most sea days on the haven sun deck with us! They ordered drinks with their non haven card and no one said boo! We also went to shows and they sat in the haven section with us! And the concierge told me to have them sit with us! Didn’t go to the restaurant but if you are just looking to use the haven areas I can’t see it being a problem!

Its a problem if every haven person does it. Also if I paid for Haven and they didn't it would make me pretty angry that they are getting haven perks.

In the situation that they are trying to do they are actually paying more. They are paying full fare for 2 passengers in a balcony room as compared to either reduced or no charge for 3rd and 4th in the aft penthouse. Why penalize them for spending additional money.

Because they didn't buy a haven room. Period.

They did buy a Haven room that gives Haven privileges to up to 4 people. I would agree if they had 4 in the aft penthouse and wanted to add the privileges to the connecting cabin. But they are extending the additional 2 to the connecting balcony without exceeding the priveledges. I would however say at that point that the DSC on the connecting unit should be adjusted to reflect the Haven charges not standard, and would hope that they also tip the butler and concierge accordingly.

We pay a premium to have the Haven. They could book a 2 bedroom, but want the aft. I don't blame them. Unless NCL wants to start adding aft 2 bedroom suites to their ships it makes sense to allow this. Of course the 2 bedroom allows for 6.

That being said their is still conflicting information as to if they will do it or not.

I've been in the OP's situation. Neither "couple" wants to go four people in the cabin, so yes it is going to cost them more any way about it. Booking the adjoining balcony is the cheap route. If both couples want Haven privileges then they both need to book Haven cabins, it's that simple. If they try to save money by booking the adjoining balcony it will be the concierge's discretion what to offer the non-Haven couple. There have been many threads about this: Children in the adjoining cabin are(were) fine and sometimes close adult family was comped, but adult friends are usually denied as the concierge often looks at it as a cheap way to try to get adult friends into the Haven at a discount.

They only way to guarantee them Haven privileges is for them to book a Haven cabin.

As with many things with all the cruise lines. It all depends on who you speak too. The PCC I used to use before she left told it could be done. But I have seen many posts here with both answers. The only answer is to make sure you get whatever you are told in writing.

They should have a written policy for this. In all honesty if they are not looking to make that the policy they should not make them connecting cabins.

IME, most PCCs have never cruised, much less in a suite. And they rarely get the written policy issues correct, so I'm not sure they are the be all end all authority.

Bottom line, it's up to the concierge and HD. Census on the ship for each sailing is taken into account, but this is definitely not something you can count on being allowed.

People keep mentioning a “written policy” - doesn’t the written policy say it’s not allowed. You could get lucky, as some have, but you don’t know for sure and if the two people in the other cabin will be disappointed I wouldn’t risk it.

We always book aft-penthouses and usually aren’t entitled to the Haven access. People upgrade to the Haven and pay less than we paid for our room, but that doesn’t give me access because I paid more.

Not allowing the friends to have Haven access is neither a penalty nor a punishment.

It isn't up to Haven passengers to decide if non-Haven passengers can have Haven access. It is up to NCL or more specifically, the concierge. The Haven passengers don't make that decision.

Not allowing them to have access is the norm.

Allowing them to have access is the rare exception.

NCL may allow it on Bliss since the Haven sundeck is so much larger than the sundeck on BA/GA/Escape but AFAIK, the connecting staterooms do not have Haven access.
