Hey everyone i am going on the serenade this sunday and i was wondering if anyone has an accurate forecast. Weather.com says it will rain in vancouver on sunday and all of the week in alaska... If anyone has seen another forecast please inform me, i am still packing and confused on what to pack!!!!

Despite rumors to the contrary, there is absolutely no such thing as an accurate forecast for the coast. If the weather-guessers get the next day right they've just been lucky - a week away they have no hope.

Glad to hear that, Murray, as I am headed up that way next week too :D .

I figure that even if they do manage to get it right:

1) I am on vacation

2) I am on a cruise ship - basically a floating city

3) I am going to be cruising through some of the most wonderful scenery in the world.

And I'm bringing shorts, heavy sweaters and a jacket, as well as rain gear. I'm ready for whatever Mother Nature decides to throw at me, and I'll accept it all with a big ole grin. :D

you can go to accuweather.com

wunderground.com

intellicast.com

they all have forecasts and some are different

do a google on "weather forecasts" and you'll get all different sites.

Bon Voyage!

I'm not far behind you

And they're all just guessing - anyone who packs for Alaska according to ANY weather forecast is just looking for problems. That's not just my cynical opinion, it's just the way it is here. My cruise in May was typical - awful forecast, wonderful weather - and if I would have only packed sweaters and rain gear I would have been very uncomfortable.

I know, I'm not packing to any weather forecast, but layers, layers and layers with rain stuff for just in case.

Basically, jeans, sneakers, socks, short sleeve tees, long sleeve tees and sweat shirts that I will buy there or on the ship and a couple of jogging suits.

and lightweight rain jacket (the fold in the pocket kind), a rain coat with a zip out lining and a "fleecy" thingy jacket.

Hopefully that will cover it.
