Both the Nieuw Amsterdam and the Zaandam are heading off to the West Coast and onwards to Alaska for the summer season. Things are winding down in Port Everglades... there are no dam ships in port on Sunday the 15th.

The Nieuw Amsterdam is at Pier 21 and the Zaandam is at Pier 19; both are scheduled to depart at 16:00/4:00 PM EDT. Times are subject to change as always.

Also in port are: Carnival Conquest (Pier 4), Harmony of the Seas (Pier 18) and Freedom of the Seas (Pier 29).

Thanks Peter for the reminder.

Sad that sail a way season is nearly over.

I have a suspicion we will be on board waving for what might be the last HAL sail a way from FLL. :D ;)

We had our first cruise ship visit for the year here in Victoria, last week. Westerdam was due to dock at 1 p.m., but didn't make it until around 5 I think it was, and had to make three attempts before she could dock, because of the wind. She made the front page!

I expect to be be here, internet gods cooperating. I also hope to get a look at Neiuw Amsterdam in person on the 18th as we should be meeting somewhere in the canal (and hopefully the Zuiderdam as well).

Going to be here for sure except when I have to go pick up the dogs at the groomers. Have to get those winter coats off before they go to their "home away from home" while we are cruising.

Timing should be just right, I hope (yn)

Checking In. The weather there is much better than what we are having. We have blizzard warnings from early this morning until tomorrow morning. So far we have been lucky in our area, just a few inches, but really strong winds, and it is a very slow moving storm. Some areas in the Dakotas and in Wisconsin might get close to 2 feet of snow before it is done. Most of the interstates are closed in the Dakotas because of the blowing snow. Just another lovely spring day in Minnesota.

I'm pretty sure you won't be last with the Amsterdam going to drydock.

I'm now doubtful with a 4:30 galley tour (5:30 PE time).
