Most users will have default to display active threads for last 90 days. Even though this is a sticky, it has been dormant and droped of the screens of any who have that default.

OK, will be active again. Duck (Duct) tape is a must. We have a damaged suitcase to repair, and it saved us in the cyclone, when the balcony door latch failed at 2am. Hope the pic show, if not, is in our blog

What about Aleo Vera (sp?) Gel for those of us who burn that tab bit too easy??

I have used Aleo Vera gel after sun burn and I can tell you from experience that it works 100%......... but you need to make sure that it is the one that is 80 - 98% just read the back of the tube carfully. regards mark

It can be purchased as a generic brand at major hardware stores and in a variety of bright colours. The big green-coloured hardware chain starting with a 'B" sells a generic version at a reasonable price.

We also use this tape externally on our suitcases as a means of identification when collecting luggage at airports and cruise disembarkation.

I continue to use duck tape as a definition, as it predates duct tape. It was invented by Johnson & Johnson for sealing ammo cases during WW2. Duck tape was found to be useful for sealing ducting pipes together, and it evolved to be called that more commonly, as duck tape is a trademarked name.

Great idea Geoff. Guess you can create an individual design then. Just as an add-on to the packing list, I think those of us flying (domestically) to the embarkation port have the easiest packing deal. With a 20kg free limit on the suitcase, culling is a lot easier.

DUCK tape .v. DUCT Tape

Yep, the names can confuse. I originally raised this point to alert people to the difference between the industrial version which is around 75mm or 100mm wide and a rather bulky item to the one you see in supermarkets and handyman stores.

Whatever you want it call it, my advise is to stick to the version that comes in a variety of colours and is available on much smaller rolls at supermarkets and general hardware stores.

I had to go hunting for it (again) to get my packing list underway ... it's so much easier when it's at the top of the list all the time!

Okay, here's the more comprehensive packing list I have on my office computer:

Packing List of those “other” things you should bring:

Travel Paperwork/Personal IDs/

• E-ticket / boarding passes for the airlines
  
• Confirmation emails from car rental, hotel and private excursions
  
• Cruise documents including completed boarding papers, immigration papers, etc.
  
• Printouts of any emails or letters re: OBCs, tour reservations, etc. (to prevent problems)
  
• Passport and any required travel visas (keep copy separately)
  
• Leave copy of itinerary / phone numbers with relatives/friends
  
• Self-sticking address labels for airline/cruise luggage tags (saves time over filling them in)
  
• Make a copy of the contents of your wallet (cards, etc.) and keep separately
