Walk To Boatyard

Has anyone ever walked to the Boatyard beach area from the cruise port? What were your thoughts? Did it feel safe? Thanks for your input.

We used a taxi but saw other walking and even a few joggers from the ship. Seemed safe and simple - keep the water on your right going and on your left heading back to the ship.

We did it about 3 years ago with teenagers and had no problems. I think part of your payment at the Boatyard includes a cab ride back. It took us about 20-30 minutes if I remember.

We have walked it.

If you like to walk, as we do, it is easily done.

We've always taken a taxi to Boatyard because we are lazy ... not because it's not safe to walk. :D

Yes, they do provide a shuttle back to the ship.

Does anyone know how much a taxi is to get there? There will be 4 of us and how much to get in and what it includes? I was there years ago and seem to remember it including a couple drinks and the water trampoline etc.

Taxi should be about $5 per person and the taxi ride back is included in your admission to the Boatyard. Their deal is always changing, so your best bet is to check out their web site www.theboatyard.com

We’ve walked to The Boatyard. From the port, head straight to town keeping close to the sea on your right. Follow the road round to the right to cross the main bridge. You’ll now come to a quieter area, but don’t worry you’re still on the way even if you can’t see the sea / beach. A few minutes along there you’ll come to The Boatyard.

It’s one of our fav stops. We like to take taxi and get there early for a good spot. Last year a boat ride to see turtles was included with admission not too long but It was a nice way to start a fun day

Did you swim with the turtles or just look over the side?

Is the walk to the Boatyard wheelchair friendly?

We snorkeled near them, very memorable experience.
