Hi all - for the Western Caribbean ports:

We dock in Honduras at 10 and leave at 6 - is this Florida time? If it is Honduras time then it is actually 11 and 7 Florida time right?

Same for Belize...?

Then in Mexico we are back to everyone being on the same time zone - right?

On every NCL cruise we have taken the ship time changes to whatever time it is in port. You get notices on your bed every evening that you need to spring ahead or fall back.

Don't try to calculate time changes. A lot of it depends on when you sail as certain places don't change time when the US goes to daylight savings time.

If you are trying to arrange independent excursions tell the vendor the ship you are on and they will tell you when to meet them. With NCL most of the time the ship changes time to match local time. The key remember is to take a real watch and always make sure that it is on the same time as the ship whenever you go ashore.

BTW in Cozumel and Costa Maya which are on Miami time in the winter during the summer it will be an hour ahead of Miami time. You simply cannot keep up with it without using an app.

If you are concerned about knowing the correct time, get yourself a cheap watch. Set the time when you get up. It will be on the tv. Then you will see when you get off the ship the time that you are to be back on board. If you are fed up with your spouse, tell them it is an hour later, then ditch them in Roatan. You will at least get a night to yourself while they get to Harvest Cay. :D

There was at least one morning on my last cruise that the time on the TV was wrong. But I do agree with getting a real watch and following the in-cabin notification cards.

Just to confuse things - a few years ago when the Spirit was sailing out of NOLA, the ship's time never changed. They made announcements that the port time was not the same as ships time, and be careful to remember that. Maybe they don't do that anymore? I can see too many people have a few too many cocktails, watching the bar clock!
