Epic assigned check-in time

Are the check-in times we chose for Port Canaveral strictly enforced? My edocs say you'll be turned away if you arrive prior to your assigned time, but we're cruising with a group and we weren't all able to select the same time.

When we did Alaska last year from Seattle they were strict and sent people away with later times, would not let them get in line.
