If you visit the Italy ports of call you will find lots of info on private transportation. Rome-in-limo gets frequent mention but others as well. You will also see many of us have used the train to travel between Rome and Civitavecchia. Easy to do but does require some mobility.

Do post on the Ports Of Call Board.

I will also provide some advice here.

There is a Hilton Hotel convenient to the FCO airport.

For questions about MSC transfers ask about those on the MSC board.

We take private transfers. We use Rome Cabs at http://www.romecabs.com and another one that is recommended often is Rome In Limo at http://www.romeinlimo.com

Does anyone have suggestions for a hotel near the Rome airport?

Is there any MSC transportation from the Rome airport to the port of Civitavecchia or is it better to book transportation to the port directly from the hotel? Thank you.

We have used Bob's Limo Rome several times and they are fantastic. Rates for a shared van are about $80.00 for two and under $90.00 for three,. Pick up is at hotel or airpot and they drop you off at luggage porters for your ship.

When we go in and out of Rome, we stay at the Hilton at the Rome Airport. We also use RomeCabs.com to book a private transfer both directions, easy to do on line, pay at day of service.

There is a Marriott hotel in the Rome Airport area, along with a Hilton Inn. We have not stayed at either but notice they were near by.
