Nice! We've never gotten a free upgrade before, so I'm definitely convinced she's a myth.

wow, what a pain to make a Nachi Cocom reservation. The obvious link on their new website for reservations doesn't work. I had to access it from their home page. Now they only accept payment through PayPal. But the option came up to pay with my credit card so put in all the info and it defaults that I may already have a PayPal account. I do, but I didn't want to use the credit balance I had with them. I knew you could run a credit card through PayPal so I proceeded only to find that Nachi Cocom set it up for the deposit to be paid by a PayPal account ONLY. So I was forced to use my credit balance at PayPal. I can still pay the remainder in cash when we get there in February

Go figure...even though the website in my cruise planner says all people over 21 has to purchase the alcohol package if 1 person does...it let me buy it just for me, not my husband.

Ha ha. Love it when that happens.

Royal FINALLY listed shore excursions for my birthday port of call next year, Dunedin, NZ. I jumped on it and booked one before they vanish off the website, or get moved to a sea day or something.

So this week I will be booking my first Celebrity cruise. I have to wait until Friday because my TA is in Cancun at a conference, collecting rewards for being a top seller in her agency. She's awesome, but sometimes having a popular TA has its drawbacks. lol. I could book through the cruise line I suppose, and then transfer the booking, but I'm finding that fares appear to be lower by $100 on various TA websites for some reason. I'm hoping my TA will be able to match what I'm seeing on those other sites.

I am totally clueless about Celebrity. I've started to study the deck plan, but as of now I'm just going to pick a basic balcony cabin somewhere near midship. I don't know enough about the ship to have any particular location in mind. It's probably better that way. With Royal, I get my heart set on a particular cabin/location and get grumpy if someone snags it before I do

I'm considering booking Vision's Panama Canal sailing next fall while we're on Enchantment in 2 weeks. Hubby won't let me book Australia again until we've gotten the Panama Canal off our bucket list.

I looked at that one too, until I saw the prices.

I LOVED the Panama Canal. I found the whole thing completely fascinating. I'm in the middle of reading the book The Path Between the Seas. I meant to finish it before the cruise, but I get too busy with other stuff. Anyway, I was up before sunrise the day we went through the canal (on Coral Princess) to get a prime viewing spot. Since my cruise was just a partial transit, I booked an excursion to go through the rest of the canal, and that was worth every penny, and the long day. I'd do another canal cruise in a heartbeat.

Australia is awesome! I went there seven years ago and spent 19 days traveling around. I didn't want to do a cruise for the first visit because I knew 8 hours in port would never be enough. This time I'm spending a few days touring around before and after the cruise. I'm sure I'm going to want to go back to New Zealand again later, to spend more time exploring.

I am at a loss for words. Mom suddenly took a turn for the worse Sunday and this morning she passed away. We are still going on EN tomorrow. My sister was there and I've done all I can do by phone and email until I get there next Tuesday. Can't believe she's gone a week after I last saw her.

Oh Karen. I am so sorry. You've done so much for your Mom over the years, this has to be so hard. You have my deepest sympathy.

Thanks Karen...I wouldn't be cruising this weekend if I had bought cruise insurance. Never thought of it because Mom was so stable.
