i thought I had read some discussion on these two before but can’t find specifics. Is it better to do these on your own rather than spend a lot of time on a bus driving by? What about the Hop On Hop Off boat in Stockholm? We’re going there on the Sky this August.

We visited Stockholm on a different Line, docking in Nynashamn, which is about 40 mls south of Stockholm. If you dock in Stockholm you enjoy a spectacular arrival through the islands.

Our favourite attractions were the Vasa Museum and the Abba Museum

Stockholm was lovely to sail in to and out of. We did the included tour which was a panoramic and gave an enjoyable overview.

We find the walking tours problematical and swerved the Copenhagen one. The shuttle bus takes you into the heart of the city and there are viking hospitality people at the start and end of the shuttle trip who can give specific directions and recommendations. We thought Copenhagen was a place we should return to.

The jazz cruise in the evening was terrific btw.

If you take the included tour in Copenhagen, is it possible to stay in the city at the end of the tour and take the shuttle back later to allow some time on your own?

Yes it is. We were told that lots of people like to do this. Just have to pick up a copy of the shuttle bus timetable and be sure you know where the pick up point is (including the time of the last return bus)

Thanks. We did this in Athens and Dubrovnik on our first cruise, and were happy for this option. Glad to hear that it is available in this port too.

Hop on hop off boat in Stockholm is convenient. We spent extra days in Stockholm at the end of our cruise and were very happy that we did. The included we had was disappointing as it was a "drive-by" panoramic but it was an overview...and as luck would have it our guide was dull and bored!
